White Vengeance

White Vengeance is set during the collapse of the Qin dynasty, as rebellion spreads and the struggle for control of China comes down to two men. Liu Bang and Xiang Yu, once sworn brothers in arms, lead the rebel forces that bring the dynasty down. King Huai of Chu sets the two friends against each other by promising rule over the Qin heartland to whoever enters the capital region first. While Xiang Yu commits his strength to fighting the Qin army's main force, he entrusts Yu Ji, the woman he loves, to Liu Bang. The bond between the two men gives way to rivalry, and the woman between them complicates the contest over who will take power.

The film is directed by Daniel Lee, who also wrote the screenplay, and it followed his earlier historical and martial-arts work Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon and 14 Blades. Leon Lai plays Liu Bang and William Feng plays Xiang Yu, with Liu Yifei as Yu Ji, Zhang Hanyu as Zhang Liang, Anthony Wong as Fan Zeng and Jordan Chan as Fan Kuai among a credited cast of 27.

Released in late 2011, White Vengeance runs 135 minutes and blends action with historical drama across a production involving Hong Kong, mainland China and the United States. It holds a 6.1 rating on IMDb from around 2,100 votes and a 6.8 on TMDB from a much smaller pool of under 60 votes, suggesting a modest but generally positive response from those who have seen it.
