Cha Cha Real Smooth

Andrew has just finished college and is living at his parents' home in New Jersey with no clear idea of what to do next. At 22, he takes a job as a party host for bar and bat mitzvahs, a role that suits his easy way with people. Through that work he meets Domino, a young mother, and her teenage daughter Lola, and the three form an unusual friendship that gives Andrew's drifting life a new focus.

Cooper Raiff directed the film and wrote the screenplay, and he plays Andrew. It is his second feature as director, following Shithouse in 2020. Dakota Johnson appears as Domino; she also produced the film alongside Erik Feig and Jessica Switch. The cast includes Evan Assante as David, Vanessa Burghardt as Lola, Leslie Mann as Lisa and Brad Garrett as Greg, with 25 credited cast members and 55 credited crew.

Released in June 2022, the film runs 108 minutes and mixes comedy, drama and romance. Reception was positive across the board. On IMDb it holds 7.3 out of 10 from around 31,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7.1 from 445 votes. A critics' rating of 7.8 from 230 reviews is slightly higher than the audience scores, suggesting reviewers responded to it a little more warmly than general viewers did.
