Larry Wilson and Richard Parker are fired from their insurance company after being accused of stealing two million dollars, money that was actually embezzled by their former boss, Bernie Lomax. With Bernie dead, the pair discover a key that points to a safe deposit box in the Virgin Islands, and they set out to recover the cash for themselves. Their problem is that reaching the money seems to require Bernie's cooperation, which means bringing his corpse along for the trip. Other parties are after the same fortune, including Bernie's former associates, who turn to voodoo to revive him, and Arthur Hummel, acting on behalf of the defrauded company.
Robert Klane directed and wrote the screenplay, with Victor Drai producing. It follows the 1989 original, again pairing Andrew McCarthy as Larry and Jonathan Silverman as Richard, while Terry Kiser returns as Bernie. Troy Byer, Barry Bostwick and Tom Wright also appear among the 32 credited cast members.
Made for about seven million dollars, the film took in roughly thirteen million worldwide, a modest return. On TMDB it holds a 5.1 rating from 337 votes, indicating limited enthusiasm from viewers.
