The Big Wedding

Don and Ellie Griffin have been divorced for years, but when their adopted son Alex prepares to marry, they agree to pose as a still-happy couple. The reason is his biological mother, a devout and socially conservative woman travelling from abroad for the ceremony, who is unaware the marriage ended. Ellie returns to the family home where Don now lives with Bebe, the former friend with whom he had an affair. With relatives and guests gathered for the wedding weekend, the pretence proves difficult to maintain.

Justin Zackham directed and wrote the screenplay, and also produced alongside Harry J. Ufland and Richard Salvatore. Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton play Don and Ellie, with Ben Barnes as Alex, Amanda Seyfried as his bride Missy, Susan Sarandon as Bebe and Katherine Heigl as the couple's daughter Lyla. The film runs 90 minutes and was made for about 35 million USD, earning roughly 22 million USD worldwide.

On IMDb it holds 5.6/10 from around 54,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.8/10 from about 1,200 votes. A film critics' rating of 3.1/10 from 106 reviews places it well below the audience scores. It remains the only feature Zackham has directed, following his work as a screenwriter.
