Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles

Mick Dundee and Sue Charlton are living quietly in the Australian outback with their young son when a call from Sue's father, a newspaper publisher in Los Angeles, changes their plans. Sue is asked to take charge of the paper's Californian office, so the family moves to the city. Dundee finds himself out of place in Los Angeles, and when Sue investigates the death of one of the paper's journalists, the trail leads toward a Hollywood film studio.

Paul Hogan returns as the title character and produced the film, with Linda Kozlowski as Sue and Jere Burns and Jonathan Banks among the supporting cast. Simon Wincer directed from a screenplay by Eric Abrams and Matthew Berry. It is the eleventh of the thirteen features Wincer directed, made between Flash and Young Black Stallion.

Made for about 21 million dollars and released in April 2001, the film took in roughly 39 million dollars worldwide, a modest return. Its reception has been weak across the board: around 4.8 out of 10 on IMDb, 5.2 out of 10 on TMDB, and a critics' rating of 4.2 out of 10 from 81 reviews, with audiences rating it only slightly higher than critics did. The low vote totals on TMDB compared with IMDb suggest the film's audience has largely thinned since its release.
