Firehouse Dog

Rexxx is a top canine performer in Hollywood, accustomed to luxury and fame. During a stunt for an action film, he falls from a plane and ends up lost in a city where nobody recognizes him. While dodging animal control, he takes shelter in a rundown firehouse and is taken in by twelve-year-old Shane, the son of a fire captain. Shane and the station's crew are struggling, and the dog's unusual abilities gradually earn him a place among them as they face a series of fires in the city.

Todd Holland directed the film, which sits between The Wizard and Fugly in his filmography. The screenplay is by Mike Werb, Michael Colleary and Claire-Dee Lim, with Werb and Colleary also producing. Josh Hutcherson plays Shane, Bruce Greenwood plays his father Connor, and Bill Nunn, Scotch Ellis Loring and Teddy Sears appear among the 48 credited cast members. The dog Rexxx is played by Arwen.
