Shortcomings

Ben Tanaka manages a small arthouse cinema in Berkeley, California, where he lives with his girlfriend, Miko. When she leaves for a three-month internship in New York City, Ben finds himself on his own and begins exploring what life looks like without her, while his friend Alice and the people around him push back on his views about race, dating and identity. The film follows the three young Bay Area residents as they navigate relationships and question what they want from a partner.
