Went Up the Hill

Jack travels to a remote part of New Zealand to attend the funeral of his mother, a woman from whom he had been estranged. While there, he meets Jill, the widow of the deceased. Their interaction is marked by confusion regarding who invited Jack to the service, but they both seek to learn more about one another. The situation turns dangerous when the spirit of the dead mother returns to possess both Jack and Jill, forcing them into a life-threatening nocturnal struggle.

The film was directed by Samuel Van Grinsven, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jory Anast. The cast features Dacre Montgomery and Vicky Krieps in dual roles, appearing as themselves and the spirit of Elizabeth. Other cast members include Sarah Peirse, Arlo Green, Ally Xue, and Finlay Grey. This production was a joint effort between companies from Australia, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand, including Screen Australia and Head Gear Films.
