Eternal

Elias is a young climate scientist who falls for Anita, a singer with her own ambitions. When he gets the chance to join a mission studying a dangerous rupture on the ocean floor, he puts his career ahead of the relationship. Years later, while taking part in that work, he is confronted by visions of the life he might have had if he had chosen differently, and he becomes determined to recover the love he gave up.

Eternal is a Danish, Icelandic and Norwegian drama directed by Ulaa Salim, who also wrote the screenplay, with Daniel Mühlendorph producing for Netop Films and Hyæne Film. Simon Sears plays Elias and Nanna Øland Fabricius plays Anita, while Viktor Hjelmsøe and Anna Søgaard Frandsen appear as the younger versions of the two characters. Magnus Krepper and Halldóra Geirharðsdóttir are also in the cast.

The film runs 99 minutes and was released in July 2024. Its reception has been modest: on IMDb it holds a rating of 5 out of 10 from 624 votes, and on TMDB it has a rating of 5.8 out of 10 from 24 votes. Both figures point to a small and limited audience response rather than broad acclaim.
