Payoff

In Marseille, the police struggle to maintain order as criminal gangs dominate the streets. To combat this, the department pairs two contrasting officers, Gomez and Tavarès. While one is seen as a strict and incorruptible investigator, the other is a flashy officer with a penchant for gambling and illicit money. Despite their opposing personalities and methods, the partners find common ground and begin working together to solve crimes and confront dangerous criminals, eventually discovering corruption within their own ranks.

This action comedy was directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner, who also wrote the screenplay alongside Renaud Bendavid. It was the first of five films he directed, followed by Walled In, Sarah's Key, Dark Places, and Crooked House. The movie stars Stomy Bugsy as Lt. Carlos Gomez and Titoff as Lt. Maxime Tavarès, with a supporting cast that includes Noémie Lenoir, Jean Yanne, Élodie Navarre, and Daniel Duval.
