Shutter

Shutter is a 2008 American horror film about a newly married couple, fashion photographer Benjamin Shaw and his wife Jane, who move to Tokyo for his work. After a car accident on a mountain road, Jane is convinced they struck a young woman, but no body can be found. Soon afterward, disturbing ghostly figures begin appearing in the photographs Benjamin develops, and Jane starts to investigate what is happening, uncovering unsettling things about her husband along the way. The film is a remake of a 2005 Thai movie of the same name.

Masayuki Ochiai directed, working from a screenplay by Luke Dawson, with Takashige Ichise, Doug Davison and Roy Lee producing. It was Ochiai's third feature, following Tales of the Unusual and Infection. Joshua Jackson and Rachael Taylor star as the couple, with Megumi Okina, David Denman, Elly Otoguro and John Hensley in supporting roles.

Reception was modest. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.2 from around 40,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.5 from roughly 850 votes. A film critics' rating of 3.7 from 63 reviews places it below even those audience scores, suggesting the film found little favor with either reviewers or viewers.
