On Swift Horses

Set in the 1950s, this drama follows Muriel and Lee as they attempt to build a stable life together in California after Lee returns from the Korean War. Their domesticity is disrupted by the arrival of Lee's brother, Julius. While Julius travels to Las Vegas and begins a relationship with a man he meets gambling, Muriel becomes bored with her conventional existence. She enters the clandestine world of horse race betting and explores her own sexuality through a relationship with another woman. Both Muriel and Julius navigate parallel paths of risk and self-discovery that lead them into dangerous situations.
