Based on true events from the 1980s, this film follows Bruno Sulak, a non-violent thief in France. After carrying out a series of robberies, Sulak gains public notoriety for his repeated and daring escapes from police custody. His primary motivation for these fugitives is to reunite with Annie, who serves as both his lover and his accomplice. These actions lead the authorities to designate him as the country's top public enemy, while some view him as a symbol of freedom.
The movie was directed by Mélanie Laurent, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Christophe Deslandes. In the chronological order of her work, this project follows Wingwomen and precedes The Nightingale. The cast features Lucas Bravo in the lead role as Bruno Sulak, alongside Léa Luce Busato as Annie and Yvan Attal as George Moréas. The production was a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios, uMedia, and Pitchipoï Productions across Belgium, the United States, and France.
Viewers have given the film mixed to moderate ratings. On IMDb, it holds a score of 5.9/10 based on 1,600 votes, while on TMDB, the rating is slightly higher at 6.3/10 from 121 votes.
