Big Momma's House 2

FBI agent Malcolm Turner is ready to step back from fieldwork and spend more time with his pregnant wife. When his former partner is killed, apparently by someone connected to businessman Tom Fuller, Malcolm takes over the case. The FBI suspects Fuller of creating a computer virus intended for terrorists, so Malcolm once again disguises himself as the hefty Southern matriarch known as Big Momma and hires on as the family's nanny in order to gather evidence. Keeping up the disguise turns out to be the easier part of the job; the harder task is managing Fuller's three unruly children.

The film is a comedy directed by John Whitesell, following his 2003 feature Malibu's Most Wanted. It was written by Don Rhymer and produced by David T. Friendly and Michael Green. Martin Lawrence returns as Malcolm and Big Momma, joined by Marisol Nichols, Kevin Durand, Dan Lauria, Kat Dennings and Josh Flitter among a credited cast of 42. Its production budget was 40 million USD, and it grossed 138 million USD worldwide, a strong return on that outlay.

Audience response was middling. On IMDb it holds 4.8/10 from 49,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.8/10 from 1,733 votes. A film critics' rating of 3.1/10 from 73 reviews places it well below both audience scores.
