Short description

In the 1970s, a British sound technician is brought to Italy to work on the sound effects for a gruesome horror film. His nightmarish task slowly takes over his psyche, driving him to confront his own past.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The recording studio featured in the film was named by the director in honor of American singer of Armenian descent, Cathy Berberian.
  • At the very beginning of the film, Elena calls Francesco to inform him of Gilderoy's arrival at the studio. Despite the film taking place in Italy, when she picks up the phone, a continuous ringing tone, typical of the USA or the UK, is heard. The phone ringing tone in Italy sounds completely different.
