Matt Kirby and Wilbur Walsh are two out-of-work men scraping by in Miami. When money runs out, they plan to rob a supermarket office, but they walk through the wrong door and end up in the neighbouring police recruitment office. To avoid suspicion, both go along with it and report for training, then try, without success, to get themselves thrown out. Instead they become patrol officers under Captain McBride, whose patience is tested by their unconventional methods. In time their old instincts lead them toward a drug ring and a murder case.
Enzo Barboni directed and wrote the screenplay. The film was released in 1977, after the two Trinity westerns, Man of the East and Even Angels Eat Beans, and before Go for It, Double Trouble and Renegade. Terence Hill and Bud Spencer play Matt and Wilbur, the pairing for which the film is best known; David Huddleston appears as Captain McBride, with Luciano Catenacci, Ezio Marano and Luciano Rossi in supporting roles. Twenty-nine cast members are credited.
The film runs 115 minutes. On IMDb it holds a 7.1 rating from around 14,000 votes, and on TMDB a 7 from roughly 737 votes, indicating a durable if modest following rather than a broad mainstream one. It is an Italian action comedy.
