Chained

Chained follows a young boy named Tim who, along with his mother, is abducted by a taxi driver named Bob. Bob is a serial killer who murders the mother and keeps the boy captive, forcing him to dispose of the bodies of later victims. As Tim grows into adolescence, Bob allows him more freedom but expects him to become an accomplice to his crimes, leaving Tim to decide whether he will follow the same path or break free.

Jennifer Chambers Lynch directed and wrote the film, which was released in 2012 and runs 94 minutes. It is the third feature she directed, following Boxing Helena in 1993 and Surveillance in 2008. The cast includes Vincent D'Onofrio as Bob, Eamon Farren as the older Tim, Evan Bird as the younger Tim, Julia Ormond as his mother, and Gina Philips as Marie Fittler, among 23 credited performers. The film was produced in Canada by Envision Media Arts and RGB Productions, with Rhonda Baker, David Buelow and Lee Nelson producing.

The film drew a much smaller audience response than its ratings might suggest. On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.9 from 548 votes, while on IMDb its 9 out of 10 comes from just 11 ratings, a very low turnout that makes that score difficult to read as a broad measure of reception.
