Short description

Following the collapse of the Empire, scattered warlords still maintain control over various parts of the galaxy. To safeguard the achievements of the Rebellion, the emerging New Republic recruits Din Djarin, a Mandalorian bounty hunter, and his young apprentice, Grogu. The pair undertakes a dangerous mission that introduces them to new allies and enemies while challenging their futures.

The film was directed by Jon Favreau, who also co-wrote the screenplay and served as a producer. This project is the tenth film in his directing career, following previous works such as Iron Man and The Lion King. The cast features Pedro Pascal as the lead character, alongside Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White. The production involved 112 credited crew members and 31 credited cast members.

Produced in the United States by Lucasfilm Ltd., Fairview Entertainment, and Golem Creations, the movie had a budget of 165 million USD. It earned 345 million USD at the worldwide box office, indicating a profitable theatrical run. Audience reception is generally positive, as reflected by a rating of 7.5/10 on TMDB based on 1,700 votes.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The scene with the gladiators features full-size replicas of the pieces the android robot used to play with Chewbacca aboard the smugglers' starship in the film 'Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope' (1977). Both the shape of the game board and the move made by R2-D2 are replicated here.
  • Stop-motion animation was used for the scenes where the main character battles the robots. The robot figures were created by specialists from Phil Tippett's company.
  • Jeremy Allen White did not appear on set. He pre-recorded his character's lines, which were played back at the appropriate moments during filming.
