Mahin, a seventy-year-old woman in Tehran, has lived by herself since her husband died and her daughter moved to Europe. Her days follow a quiet routine, kept company by friends her own age, until a get-together over afternoon tea nudges her toward something different. She begins to open herself to the possibility of romance again, and an unexpected meeting with a taxi driver named Faramarz turns into an evening that neither of them could have planned.
The film is directed by Behtash Sanaeeha and Maryam Moghaddam, who also wrote the screenplay together. It is a co-production involving Germany, Iran, France and Sweden, and runs 97 minutes. Lily Farhadpour plays Mahin, with Esmaeel Mehrabi as Faramarz and supporting turns from Mansoureh Ilkhani, Soraya Orang, Homa Mottahedin and Sima Esmaeili among a credited cast of 23.
Released in July 2024, the film blends comedy, drama and romance. On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.4 from roughly 9,800 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7.3 from 186 votes. The two scores are close, suggesting a similar response from the larger and smaller groups of viewers who have seen it.
