Jatt & Juliet

Jatt & Juliet is a Punjabi romantic comedy about two young people from Punjab who meet while travelling to Canada. Fateh, known as Jatt, is a playful and easy-going man, while Pooja, called Juliet, is a modern young woman with a very different outlook on life. Their first encounters are marked by friction, since the two disagree on almost everything. As circumstances keep bringing them back together, their hostility gradually gives way to friendship, and they only come to understand the depth of their feelings once they are apart. The film follows whether they will get another chance to act on that love or remain at odds.

Anurag Singh directed the film from a screenplay by Dheeraj Rattan, with White Hill Production behind it. It came early in Singh's directing career, standing as the first title in the chronology of his listed work, ahead of Kesari and Border 2. Diljit Dosanjh plays Fateh, Neeru Bajwa plays Pooja, and the supporting cast includes Jaswinder Bhalla, Upasna Singh, Rana Ranbir and B.N. Sharma. Running 140 minutes, the film mixes comedy with romance and is set against the backdrop of a journey abroad.

On TMDB, Jatt & Juliet holds a rating of 7.5 out of 10 from a small number of votes, a score that suggests those who have logged it respond positively to the pairing at its centre and its blend of humour and sentiment.
