Short description

This Nigerian drama and romance focuses on the life of Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, a determined advocate for women's rights. The story traces her development from a young girl who recognized the value of schooling to her achievement as the first female student at Abeokuta Grammar School at age thirteen. After spending time in London, she returns to Nigeria to dedicate herself to organizing and teaching while pushing for gender equality during an era when such ideas were not widely discussed.

The film was directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters, following her 2024 project House of Ga'a. It was produced by BAP Productions, with Austen-Peters and Joseph Umoibom serving as producers and Tunde Babalola writing the screenplay. The lead role of Funmilayo is played by Kehinde Bankole, with Suliman Ibrahim and Ifakolade Ajanaku appearing as Israel and Baba Ifa respectively. Released in March 2025, the movie has a runtime of 91 minutes.
