Anand is a city dweller who returns to his rural home in western India to observe a ten-day mourning period following the death of his father. While dealing with family expectations and traditional rituals, he forms a close, affectionate bond with Balya, a local farmer struggling to avoid marriage. As the period of mourning concludes and Anand is required to return to the city, he must decide the future of their relationship.
