Run Baby Run

Venu, a cameraman with Reuters, runs into Renuka, a woman he was once involved with, while covering a story connected to a politician. Their reunion draws them into looking into a killing orchestrated by Bharathan Pillai, with Biju Menon, Saikumar and Siddique among the figures caught up in the case.

The Malayalam-language thriller was directed by Joshiy, working from a screenplay by Sachy and produced by Milan Jaleel for Galaxy Films. It came out in 2012 and runs 142 minutes. Mohanlal plays Venu opposite Amala Paul as Renuka. For Joshiy, the film followed Robin Hood (2009), one of ten titles he directed listed in order from Sandharbham (1984) onward.

Run Baby Run took about 2 million USD worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.6 out of 10 from roughly 1,900 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.6 from a much smaller group of 34. Reception was therefore warmer among the larger, more established body of voters than among the smaller set, though both point to a moderately received film rather than a widely celebrated one.
