Yours, Mine & Ours

A widowed Coast Guard admiral, Frank Beardsley, moves to New London to run the Coast Guard Academy while raising his eight children with military discipline. At a school reunion he reconnects with Helen North, a designer and widowed mother of ten whose household runs on affection and improvisation rather than rules. The two marry quickly, and their combined eighteen children, raised in opposite ways, are forced into one home where the orderly Beardsleys and the unruly Norths clash over territory and habits. The children eventually cooperate on a shared goal: breaking up the marriage.

Raja Gosnell directed the film, which sits between Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed and Beverly Hills Chihuahua in the order of his features. Ron Burch and David Kidd wrote the screenplay, and Michael G. Nathanson and Robert Simonds produced. Dennis Quaid and Rene Russo lead as Frank and Helen, with Rip Torn, Linda Hunt, Jerry O'Connell and David Koechner among the credited cast of 45. The film is a remake of the 1968 comedy of the same name.
