Beautiful Evening, Beautiful Day

Beautiful Evening, Beautiful Day follows four close friends and gay men who fought as partisans against Nazis and Ustashas during World War II. Sixteen years later, in communist Yugoslavia, the group has established themselves as successful filmmakers. By 1957, their sexual orientation draws suspicion from the state, leading the government to pressure them into producing propaganda. The conflict intensifies when Emir, a loyal communist party official, is tasked with undermining their lives and careers, though his own convictions begin to waver as he pursues them.

The drama was written and directed by Ivona Juka. The cast features Dado Ćosić as Lovro Horvat, Emir Hadžihafizbegović as Emir, Slaven Došlo as Stevan, Đorđe Galić as Nenad Miličić, and Elmir Krivalić as Ivan, among 34 credited performers. A co-production involving companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Cyprus, Poland, the United States, and Croatia, the film has a runtime of 137 minutes. It was released on January 23, 2026.
