Green Snake: The Origin

Green Snake: The Origin is a Chinese fantasy drama about a creature who feeds on demons and avoids harming humans. After being attacked and driven away by the residents of Hangzhou, the wounded protagonist meets a small ghost, and the two begin traveling together. Upon entering the demon realm, she attempts to save prisoners, though she is initially met with doubt. This leads the Demon King to give her a vital assignment. Throughout her journey, the protagonist develops human emotions and forms a close connection with her ghostly companion.

The film was directed and written by Liu Chun, who also directed Doll Bride in 2024 and Wanted in 2025. The cast includes Shang Na as the title character, Ke Ying as White Snake, and Zhang Yaqi as Mu Shang. Released in February 2025, the movie has a runtime of 85 minutes.
