I'm So Excited!

I'm So Excited! is a Spanish comedy set almost entirely aboard a flight bound from Madrid to Mexico City. When a serious problem with the plane's landing gear leaves the aircraft circling with no safe place to land, the eccentric passengers and crew are forced to confront the possibility that they may not survive. In business class, a varied group of travellers, among them a swindler, a womanising pilot, a journalist, newlyweds and a fortune teller, pass the tense hours by revealing long-hidden secrets to one another. Meanwhile, the flight attendants, an unconventional trio, do their best to keep everyone entertained and distracted from the danger, even as those on the ground work on a solution.

Pedro Almodóvar wrote and directed the film, his fifteenth feature in a career of twenty-two, arriving between The Skin I Live In and Julieta. Produced by El Deseo, with Esther García and Agustín Almodóvar producing, it belongs to the colourful, ensemble-driven strand of his work, with Antonio Banderas and Penélope Cruz appearing among a credited cast that also includes Antonio de la Torre, Hugo Silva and Miguel Ángel Silvestre.

Made for about 5 million dollars, the film returned roughly 12 million worldwide. It holds a rating of 5.7 out of 10 on TMDB from more than 700 votes, while the film critics' rating stands close to that figure on average, indicating a generally mixed reception from both audiences and reviewers.
