Anna Foster is the daughter of the President of the United States, and she has grown tired of the constant security detail that keeps her from living like an ordinary teenager. During a diplomatic trip to Europe with her family, she manages to slip away from her Secret Service agents. She meets Ben Calder, a young British man who becomes her companion as she travels across the continent. Anna keeps her identity from him, unaware that he has secrets of his own.
Andy Cadiff directed this 2004 romantic comedy, working from a screenplay by Derek Guiley and David Schneiderman. Mandy Moore stars as Anna, with Matthew Goode as Ben. Stark Sands, Caroline Goodall, Jeremy Piven and Annabella Sciorra appear in supporting roles. The film was produced by David Parfitt, Broderick Johnson and Andrew A. Kosove, and was shot in part in Prague and Berlin. It runs 111 minutes.
Made for about 23 million dollars, the film earned roughly 12 million worldwide, a modest return against its budget. On IMDb it holds a 6.1 rating from around 42,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.2 from about 663 votes. A critics' rating of 4.8 from 115 reviews places it below the audience scores. Cadiff came to the project after a long career in television comedy, and this remains one of his few theatrical features.
