It Will Happen Tonight

This upcoming romantic comedy-drama follows the intersecting lives of Matteo and Greta over several years. The story begins with separate events in Oslo and Mumbai before moving to Rome, where Matteo and Greta first meet during a tennis match. Although Matteo feels an immediate connection, Greta is newly married. Despite the passage of time and their separate lives, including other marriages and children, the two continue to encounter one another at inconvenient moments. The plot is loosely based on Eshkol Nevo's short story collection Legami and explores modern relationships and emotions.

The film is directed by Nanni Moretti, who also served as a producer and co-writer alongside Valia Santella and Federica Pontremoli. This project follows his previous work, including A Brighter Tomorrow and Three Floors. The cast features Louis Garrel in the role of Matteo and Jasmine Trinca as Greta, with Angela Finocchiaro, Elena Lietti, Antonio De Matteo, and Andrea Lattanzi in supporting roles. A co-production between Spain, Italy, and France, the movie is produced by RAI Cinema, France 3 Cinéma, Fandango, and Playtime. It has a runtime of 103 minutes and is scheduled for release on December 3, 2026.
