After their father passes away, the Dashwood women are forced to leave their family estate in Sussex because the inheritance goes to their half-brother. Relocating to a modest cottage, sisters Elinor and Marianne must navigate financial hardship and the strict expectations of their society. The two women possess contrasting personalities, as Elinor relies on logic and emotional restraint while Marianne is guided by passion and impulse. As they encounter various suitors, including Edward Ferrars, John Willoughby, and Colonel Brandon, the sisters face the trials of first love while relying on their strong familial bond.
