Night Moves

Night Moves is a drama-thriller about three environmental activists who join forces to carry out the most extreme protest of their lives: blowing up a hydroelectric dam. Josh, who works on an organic farm in Oregon, becomes increasingly radical through his contact with other activists. He teams up with Dena, a young militant, and Harmon, a man with a murky past, to plan the operation. As the preparations advance, tensions emerge between the three very different characters, and when something goes wrong during the action, their chance of returning to normal life is gone for good.

The film was directed by Kelly Reichardt, who wrote the screenplay with Jonathan Raymond. It followed Reichardt's Wendy and Lucy (2008) and Meek's Cutoff (2011), and came before Certain Women (2016), First Cow (2020), Showing Up (2023), The Mastermind (2025) and RAIN SET ACTION (2026). The main cast includes Jesse Eisenberg as Josh Stamos, Dakota Fanning as Dena Brauer, Peter Sarsgaard as Harmon, Alia Shawkat as Surprise, Logan Miller as Dylan and Kai Lennox as Sean.
