Ha-Chan, Shake Your Booty!

Set in Tokyo, this romantic comedy drama follows Haru and Luis, two ballroom dancers who enjoy competing together. Following a tragic event, Haru isolates herself from the dance community. Encouraged by friends to return to the studio, she finds herself drawn to a new instructor, forcing her to confront her emotions and her future as a romantic connection develops.

The film was directed by Josef Kubota Wladyka, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Nicholas Huynh and served as a producer alongside Mao Nagakura and Kimberly Parker Zox. This is the second film directed by Wladyka, following Catch the Fair One in 2022. The production was a joint effort between the United States and Japan, involving companies such as THEFOOL, Ha-Chan, JDM Pictures, and Beauregard Pictures.

The movie features a cast of 24 credited performers, led by Rinko Kikuchi in the role of Haru. Other main cast members include Alberto Guerra as Fedir, Alejandro Edda as Luis, Yoh Yoshida as Yuki, and Damián Alcázar as Jacobo. The film has a total runtime of 122 minutes.
