Picture Girl

Picture Girl is a short drama with romantic elements set in Ireland. It centres on a teenager with autism who does not speak and who develops a quiet attachment to the girl living next door. Unable to put the feeling into words, the teenager expresses it through portraits drawn by hand, so the drawings carry what cannot be said aloud.

The film runs fifteen minutes and was released in July 2025. It was directed by Simon Brown from a screenplay by Mitzi Smishkewych-Kosovske, with Wolodymyr Smishkewych producing for Now and then Media. Shauna Radford plays Sadie and Mia McGettigan plays the Picture Girl, while Aisling Goodwin appears as Sadie's mother. The credited cast numbers twenty, among them Niamh Cremin, Jodi Flynn and Riona Moulton.

As a short release from a small production company, the film is a contained piece built around a single central relationship rather than a large-scale production. The cast is led by younger performers, with the story resting on the unspoken bond between the two main characters and the drawings that give it form.
