Meeting of the Half Moons

Meeting of the Half Moons is a drama that examines the aftermath of a fatal medical error. The story centers on a young woman contemplating suicide on a rooftop, using her situation to explore whether blame lies with a rigid institutional system or the indifference of individuals. The narrative is presented in a non-linear structure to emphasize the personal perspectives of different characters and to critique the social tendency to seek scapegoats.

Written and directed by Ng Ho-Yin, this Hong Kong production was supported by Fresh Wave, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, and the School of Design at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The cast includes Gary Lee Yiu-Tong as Fat Wah, Pian Cheung Cheun-Kam as Miss Cheung, and Isaac Cheng Chi-Cheung as Tsz Yeung, with Lam Lei and Edmond Hui Yiu-Chung appearing as police officials. Released on September 20, 2010, the film has a total runtime of 20 minutes.
