Victoria English rules the Sigma Sigma sorority at a South Beach university, where membership is reserved for women who are wealthy, stylish and attractive. When a men's magazine runs a contest to find the country's best sorority, with a cover shoot as the prize, Victoria sees a chance to raise her own profile. To satisfy the competition's diversity requirement, she recruits a group of pledges who fit none of Sigma Sigma's usual standards, intending to put them through humiliating initiation ordeals and then discard them. Among the newcomers is Gloria, whose confidence and intelligence set her apart, and who becomes involved with Victoria's boyfriend, Derek. The mistreated pledges turn against the president and work to expose what she is really like.
The film is a comedy directed by William Heins from a screenplay by Cheryl Guerriero and Anna Obropta, produced by Jack Utsick and Juan-Carlos Zapata. Paris Hilton leads the cast as Victoria, with Paula Garcés as Gloria, Sarah Carter as Kristen, Kerri Kenney as Kathy, Simon Rex as Derek and Geoffrey Arend in multiple roles. It was made on a budget of 8 million dollars and took about 2 million dollars worldwide, a small return on its cost. On IMDb it holds a rating of 1.7 from roughly 19,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 2.9 from a much smaller number of votes, suggesting viewers who sought it out rated it slightly less harshly than the larger IMDb audience did. A critics' rating of 2.5 from six reviews places it in similar territory.
