Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium centers on a toy store unlike any other, where toys move on their own and children's imaginations bring the place to life. Its eccentric owner, Edward Magorium, has run the shop for well over a century and now intends to hand it over to Molly Mahoney, the young manager who works there. Once she inherits it, the store begins to lose its color and vitality, turning gray and joyless. A reserved accountant named Henry Weston, who does not believe in magic, becomes involved, along with a young regular customer named Eric, as Molly tries to understand what keeps the emporium alive.

The film was written and directed by Zach Helm and stars Dustin Hoffman as Magorium, Natalie Portman as Molly, Jason Bateman as Henry and Zach Mills as Eric. It is a family fantasy comedy released in November 2007, running 93 minutes, and was produced by 20th Century Fox, Walden Media and Mandate Pictures. Made for about 65 million dollars, it took in roughly 69 million worldwide, a modest return against its cost. On IMDb it holds 6.2 out of 10 from about 49,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.3 from a much smaller number of ratings. A critics' score of 5.6 out of 10 from 122 reviews places it close to those audience figures.
