The Garden of Sinners: A Study in Murder - Part 2

Set in February 1999, the story follows Shiki Ryougi and Mikiya Kokutou as they face a string of brutal murders. These crimes mirror a series of homicides from 1995, the time when Shiki and Mikiya first met. The return of these killings awakens a dormant, murderous urge within Shiki. As a mysterious figure in a kimono is spotted at crime scenes, Mikiya conducts his own investigation to protect Shiki and clear her name. His search leads him through the city's underworld and involves a specific drug found in the victims. Together, they seek the true perpetrator to resolve the conflict and secure their own fates.

Directed by Hikaru Kondo, this film is the first in a chronological list of his directed works, followed by The Garden of Sinners: Epilogue in 2011. The screenplay was written by Masaki Hiramatsu.
