Magic in the Water

A psychologist named Jack Black takes his children, Joshua and Ashley, on a trip to a lake in British Columbia. While Jack remains preoccupied with his professional commitments, the children investigate local legends regarding a lake monster known as Orky. They discover that the creature is real and that it is threatened by people dumping toxic waste into the water. By working together to protect the creature and stop the polluters, the children hope to build a stronger relationship with their distant father.

Directed by Rick Stevenson, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Icel Dobell Massey, this 1995 production is a blend of adventure, drama, family, and fantasy.
