Boy's Choir

After the death of his father, a teenage boy is placed in an orphanage. He struggles to fit in and faces harassment from others due to a stutter, which leads him to consider running away. His perspective changes when he meets Yasuo, an androgynous boy who encourages him to find his place within the institution's choir.

This Japanese music drama was directed by Akira Ogata, marking the first of two listed films in his career before Kyoto Hippocrates. The screenplay was written by Kenji Aoki. The film features a cast including Atsushi Ito as Michio Yanagida and Sora Tôma as Yasuo. Other supporting roles are played by Teruyuki Kagawa, Ryoko Takizawa, Ken Mitsuishi, and Reita Serizawa. The production was a collaboration between Suncent CinemaWorks, WOWOW, and Bandai Visual. With a runtime of 129 minutes, the movie was released in October 2000.
