Brooklyn's Finest

Brooklyn's Finest is a crime drama set in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn, where the NYPD's 65th precinct handles some of the city's roughest ground. Three officers whose paths have never crossed are each worn down by the job in different ways. Eddie Dugan, a veteran patrolman, is days away from retirement and looking for nothing more than a quiet exit. Clarence "Tango" Butler has spent years undercover in the drug trade, and the life he has constructed for the assignment has cost him elsewhere. Sal Procida works narcotics and faces pressure at home that pushes him toward choices he would once have rejected. When a dealer close to Tango leaves prison and prepares a major deal, a raid brings the three men into the same night.

Antoine Fuqua directed the film, the eighth of the nineteen features he has made, arriving between Shooter and Olympus Has Fallen. Michael C. Martin wrote the screenplay, and the cast is led by Richard Gere, Don Cheadle and Ethan Hawke, with Wesley Snipes, Vincent D'Onofrio and Ellen Barkin in supporting roles. Made for 17 million dollars, it took in about 46 million worldwide.
