Pan

Pan is a fantasy adventure about a rebellious twelve-year-old boy living in a grim London orphanage. One night he is taken from that world and finds himself in Neverland, a magical place inhabited by pirates, warriors and fairies. There he meets the warrior Tiger Lily and a man named James Hook, and together they set out to oppose the pirate Blackbeard, who has his own plans for the orphan boys he has taken. Peter's search for his origins and his place in this strange land leads toward the hero he will become.

Joe Wright directed the film, which he made between Anna Karenina and Darkest Hour. Jason Fuchs wrote the screenplay, with Paul Webster, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter producing. Levi Miller plays Peter Pan, Garrett Hedlund plays James Hook, Hugh Jackman plays Blackbeard, Rooney Mara plays Tiger Lily, Adeel Akhtar plays Smee and Nonso Anozie plays Bishop. The production, a British, Indian and American effort involving Warner Bros. Pictures, RatPac Entertainment, Berlanti Productions and Moving Picture Company, had a budget of 150 million dollars and took about 128 million dollars worldwide, so it did not recover its cost. On IMDb it holds 5.7 out of 10 from roughly 69,000 votes, and on TMDB 6 out of 10 from about 2,900 votes. The critics' rating of 4.6 out of 10 from 198 reviews is lower than both audience scores.
