The Mechanic

Arthur Bishop is an elite assassin known as a "mechanic," a specialist who eliminates targets cleanly and without leaving traces. His work demands strict discipline, total detachment and absolute precision, and he has long operated alone. That changes when his friend and former mentor Harry McKenna is murdered and Harry's son Steve asks to be trained in the trade. Bishop agrees to take on the young man as a pupil, and the two begin working together while Bishop pursues those responsible for Harry's death.

The film is a 2011 action crime thriller directed by Simon West, the fifth of fourteen features he has directed in chronological order, following When a Stranger Calls and preceding The Expendables 2. Richard Wenk, Karl Gajdusek and Lewis John Carlino wrote the screenplay. Jason Statham plays Bishop, with Ben Foster as Steve, Donald Sutherland as Harry, and Mini Anden, Tony Goldwyn and Christa Campbell among the supporting cast. It was produced by William Chartoff, David Winkler and René Besson.
