Henry Burke is a top student about to give the valedictorian speech at his high school and collect a scholarship to MIT. The night before, he finally tries marijuana with the school's resident stoner, Travis Breaux. The timing could hardly be worse: the principal, Dr. Leslie Gordon, announces a mandatory drug test for the whole school. Facing expulsion and the loss of his scholarship, Henry teams up with Travis and works out a way to avoid failing alone. The two set out to make sure the entire graduating class tests positive, which means getting hold of a large amount of marijuana and turning it into baked goods for the school's bake sale. Their supplier is the erratic dealer Psycho Ed, whose stash sets off a chain of complications.
High School is a 2010 American comedy directed by John Stalberg Jr., who wrote the screenplay with Stephen Susco and Erik Linthorst. It was the first feature in Stalberg's directing career, ahead of Crypto, Muzzle, Bad Hombres and Muzzle: City of Wolves. Matt Bush plays Henry and Sean Marquette plays Travis; the cast also includes Michael Chiklis as the principal, Adrien Brody as Psycho Ed, Colin Hanks and Adhir Kalyan, with 67 credited performers in all.
The film runs 99 minutes and was produced by FlipZide and Parallel Media on a budget of about 10 million dollars. It has a modest reception on TMDB, where it holds a rating of 5.6 out of 10 from 166 votes.
