Everly is an action thriller centred on a woman who has informed on the criminal organisation she once worked for. When her former partner, a mob boss, learns of her betrayal, he puts a bounty on her and sends waves of killers to the apartment where she is trapped. She has to hold out against them, and she is fighting for more than her own survival.
Joe Lynch directed the film, working from a screenplay by Yale Hannon. It was his third feature, following Wrong Turn 2: Dead End in 2007 and Chillerama in 2011, and it came before Mayhem, Point Blank and Suitable Flesh. Salma Hayek Pinault plays the title role, with Hiroyuki Watanabe as Taiko, Laura Cepeda as Edith, Togo Igawa, Akie Kotabe and Gabriella Wright among the supporting cast.
Made for about 10 million dollars by Dimension Films, Anonymous Content, Vega Baby and Crime Scene Pictures, the film runs 93 minutes. Its reception was modest across the board. On IMDb it holds 5.1 out of 10 from around 20,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.5 from roughly 600 votes. A critics' rating of 4.5 out of 10 from 55 reviews places it below even the middling audience scores, so the film drew limited enthusiasm from either side.
