Suburban Gothic is a comedy horror film about Raymond, an unemployed man with a prestigious degree and the ability to communicate with the dead. After moving back into his parents' home in his small hometown, he must deal with his overbearing family and former classmates who once marginalized him. When a vengeful ghost begins terrorizing the local community, Raymond teams up with Becca, a rebellious bartender, to uncover the spirit's secrets and protect the town's residents.
Directed by Richard Bates Jr., this was the second film he directed, following Excision and preceding Trash Fire. The screenplay was written by Bates Jr. and Mark Bruner. The movie stars Matthew Gray Gubler as Raymond and Kat Dennings as Becca, featuring a supporting cast that includes Ray Wise, Sally Kirkland, Jeffrey Combs, and John Waters. Produced by New Normal Films in the United States, the film has a runtime of 90 minutes.
