Mak returns from war to his rural village with four comrades who became close friends during their service, eager to introduce them to his wife, Nak, and their child. The friends settle in, but odd occurrences and local talk about Nak soon unsettle them. The village rumor holds that she died during her pregnancy. Her friends want only to protect Mak, while Nak has no intention of letting something like her own death come between her and her husband.
Banjong Pisanthanakun directed the film, working from a screenplay he wrote with Chantavit Dhanasevi and Nontra Kumwong. It followed Shutter, Alone, 4bia, Phobia 2 and his segment in The ABCs of Death, and arrived the same year as that anthology. Mario Maurer plays Mak and Davika Hoorne plays Nak, with Nattapong Chatpong, Pongsatorn Jongwilas, Attharut Kongrasri and Kantapat Permpoonpatcharasuk as the four friends. The credited cast runs to 28 names. Produced by Jor Kwang Films with GMM Tai Hub, the Thai comedy-horror-romance was released in March 2013 and runs 112 minutes. Its reported budget far exceeded its worldwide gross, which indicates the figures reflect local currency converted. On IMDb it holds 7.2 from about 7,300 votes, and on TMDB 7.2 from roughly 140 votes, so the two audiences agree closely despite the different sample sizes.
