Love Wrecked

Eighteen-year-old Jenny Taylor is thrilled to learn that her favorite rock star, Jason Masters, is staying at the tropical resort where she works for the summer. After the two of them end up in the water during a boat trip and wash ashore on what seems to be a deserted beach, Jenny realizes the spot is actually within easy reach of the hotel. She keeps that to herself, hoping the time alone with Jason will bring them closer, and the arrival of a rival who claims to have been stranded the same way complicates her plan.

Love Wrecked is a 2005 American comedy directed by Randal Kleiser, working from a screenplay by Stephen Langford. It came late in Kleiser's filmography, after the likes of Grease, The Blue Lagoon, Flight of the Navigator and Honey, I Blew Up the Kid. Amanda Bynes plays Jenny, with Chris Carmack as Jason, and Jonathan Bennett, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Joey Kern and Lance Bass among the supporting cast.

The film runs 87 minutes. Its ratings sit below the middle: on IMDb it holds 4.9 out of 10 from around 16,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.2 out of 10 from 541 votes. A critics' rating of 4.4 out of 10 from seven reviews places it close to the audience scores, so viewers and reviewers responded to it in broadly similar terms.
