Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion

Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion takes place in a galaxy under the grip of the Galactic Empire, at a time when the Jedi have been wiped out. On the Outer Rim planet Lothal, a fourteen-year-old orphan and thief named Ezra Bridger survives by his wits until he crosses paths with the crew of a freighter called the Ghost. This small band of rebels, led by Kanan Jarrus and the pilot Hera Syndulla, includes the explosive expert Sabine Wren, the Lasat warrior Zeb Orrelios and the grumpy astromech droid Chopper. Ezra is drawn into their fight against Imperial rule years before the events of the original Star Wars film.

This made-for-television film launched the animated series and was directed by Steward Lee and Steven G. Lee, with a screenplay by Simon Kinberg. It was produced by Lucasfilm Animation. The voice cast features Freddie Prinze Jr. as Kanan, Vanessa Marshall as Hera, Taylor Gray as Ezra, Tiya Sircar as Sabine and Steve Blum as Zeb, with Dave Filoni voicing Chopper. At 44 minutes, it serves as a feature-length introduction to the series and its characters rather than a standalone story.
