Dead Rising: Watchtower

Dead Rising: Watchtower takes place in an America where a virus that turns people into the walking dead has been held in check by a drug called Zombrex, given even to those who have been bitten. When a bad batch of the drug fails, an outbreak erupts around a large stadium in a quarantined town. A journalist named Chase Carter is caught in the middle of it and keeps reporting as the situation collapses, while teaming up with a survivor, Crystal O'Rourke, to stay alive and get out. The film is based on the Capcom video game series of the same name.

Zach Lipovsky directed from a screenplay by Tim Carter, who also produced. It is the third film Lipovsky directed, following Tasmanian Devils and Leprechaun: Origins, and it precedes his later work on Freaks, Kim Possible, Final Destination Bloodlines and Freaks Part II. Jesse Metcalfe plays Chase, with Meghan Ory as Crystal, Virginia Madsen as Maggie, Keegan Connor Tracy as Jordan Blair, Aleks Paunovic as Logan and Dennis Haysbert as General Alan Lyons. Thirty-one cast members and 161 crew are credited.

Released in March 2015, the film runs 118 minutes. On TMDB it holds a rating of 5.2 out of 10 from roughly 390 votes, a modest response from a limited number of viewers.
