Short description
Song to Song is a drama set in the music scene of Austin, Texas, where two couples become entangled as they pursue their careers. Faye and BV are songwriters trying to make their names, while Cook is an established music producer whose influence reaches both of them. Faye has been involved with Cook, and BV is one of Cook's discoveries, though he does not know about their history. Cook also becomes involved with Rhonda, a waitress. The relationships shift as ambition, attraction and betrayal pull the characters in different directions.
Terrence Malick directed and wrote the film, which sits between Knight of Cups and A Hidden Life in the sequence of features he has directed. Michael Fassbender plays Cook, Ryan Gosling is BV, Rooney Mara is Faye and Natalie Portman is Rhonda, with Cate Blanchett and Holly Hunter also appearing. The production had a budget of 10 million US dollars.
